Broncos = Bad; Sushi = Good!!

When you gotta drown your sorrows after watching one of the most PITIFUL football games on the planet, there's nothing better than wallowing in a yummy platter of fresh sushi, a warm cup of green tea, and some hotter-than-Hades wasabe to burn the memory from your brain of a game that should have never been played.

FYI for Denverites and future visitors: I stumbled upon a great new place callled Mikuni Sushi in the new Park Meadows Vista Shoppes in Lonetree. Originally from Sacramento, Mikuni Sushi has made its way East to open its first location in Colorado, and boy are we thrilled it did! Go online to check out the menu, then zip on over to the swanky place for fresh food, a delightful atmosphere and a friendly sushi bar staff who's prepared to fulfill your every whim and combination of fish and condiments - on or off the menu. Joe, the Associate Chef and manager of the Colorado Mikuni was great to talk with, asking me what I liked in a sushi roll, what customers (me!) are looking for when they come to a sushi/Japanese restaurant, and how spicey do I like my rolls!! I talked, he prepared, and a beautiful relationship began (that's cuz he never breathed a word about the Raiders embarassing the Broncos this afternoon!). I didn't even look at the menu for very long; with Joe at the helm and the menu permanently imbedded in his memory, he whipped up the most delectable Japanese and California-inspired rolls and sashimi combos -- the best I've ever had! Go for the Marilyn Monroll, Pimp My Roll, and Barbecued Tuna with Red/White Sauce. Desserts? Don't get me started...so yummy and unusual for a sushi spot.

For those of you California transplants, welcome home to Mikuni, right here in Park Meadows Vista Shoppes off of I-25 and County Line Road. And for you Colorado residents, stop in and ask for Joe. Tell him that Lisa from Mile High Sports sent you!
